Paideia Academy established in 1997 was the first charter middle school in Kenosha and the first Paideia school in Wisconsin.
Recognized for the 2005 - 2006, 2006 - 2007, 2007 - 2008, 2008 - 2009, and 2009 - 2010 school years by the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators as an Exemplary Middle School. Recognition is based on high growth in reading and or/math scores in the past school year; and reading and/or math scores in the top 10% in the years listed above.
Director, Ellen Becker, was named the Charter School Person of the Year, for 2008. Nominated for the Middle School Excellence Award 2010 - 2011.
